They represent a small percentage of the population and a small fraction of the Republican party. The problem is not that they are delusional and simplistic but rather that the Republican leadership is the biggest group of cowards to ever get elected to Congress. They are unwilling to stand up to the TP for fear of a primary challenge so they refuse to bring a solution that could easily pass to a vote.
