Losing the ability to drive could be life-affecting. What if they live in the countryside where the buses might run on Thursdays but only if there’s an R in the month? What if they are disabled and can’t walk to the shops? Or live in an area without friends or family? It’s so much easier to tick the box that says Fit To Drive and renew for another three years the licence. As I see it this is in fact a licence to kill.
